WE'RE TOO GOOD FOR PLUGS THIS CMJ.
October 12, 2010 at 11:48 PM That's right, friends — our Big Ugly Yellow Couch CMJ showcase this Saturday night at Pianos Upstairs will be acoustic. Who needs electric guitars? Who would ever want to pass up a perfectly worthy triangle or maraca? Not us. If it shakes and rattles, it's probably a baby toy. But, if it's onstage between 7pm and 10pm this weekend, it's just part of what will be the best way possible to close out CMJ, second only to a vat of Red Bull.
We're beyond happy face cookies to be having three lovely bands joining us upstairs at Pianos this weekend:Young The Giant, the Californian five-piece whose album is the best thing we've heard in months upon months, our dear friends Dinosaur Feathers whose music makes us want to jump on a Pterodactyl and go joy-flying all over town, and Santah, a lovely band we've adored for years from good ol' Illinois that we're sure you'll feel big cartoon hearts towards too.
We can't wait to celebrate our post-infuego relaunch with all of you, and make sure to stop by Big Ugly tomorrow, when we'll unveil our first brand new session, shot in our new loft apartment. (!)
